    鄂尔多斯块体北缘地震活动特征研究

    Characteristics of seismicity along the northern margin of the Ordos Block

    • 摘要: 本文基于内蒙古测震台网的观测数据,采用tomoDDMC方法对鄂尔多斯块体北缘2008—2025年的地震事件进行精定位,获得精确的地震目录,分析鄂尔多斯块体北缘的地震活动特征. 为了得到可靠的结果,定位前进行了严格的震相筛选,并且测试了两种不同速度模型的结果. 研究表明,鄂尔多斯块体北缘地震空间分布特征不依赖单一速度模型,但震源深度受速度模型影响相对更明显. 2008—2025年鄂尔多斯块体北缘共定位地震2773次,以中小地震为主,大震级事件数量较少,采用最大曲率法估计完备震级Mc约为1.3,并对MMc的事件采用最大似然法估计b值,得到b约为0.54. 不同分区的b值存在横向差异,西部乌海—巴彦淖尔附近及研究区中部和东部部分区域呈相对低b值,而包头—呼和浩特一带局部表现为中等至较高b值. 精定位后的地震分布呈现出与断层位置有关的条带状分布,研究区西段地震主要集中在阿拉善左旗至乌海一带,中段地震主要集中在呼和浩特至包头一带,东段地震主要集中在和林格尔周边. 震源深度大体呈现西边深东边浅的特征. 为定量分析深度变化特征,本文按 0.5°经度间隔划分网格,并统计各经度带内震源深度中值,结果显示,各经度带震源深度中值为 3.91~16.04 km,变化幅度达 12.13 km,其中,106.5°~107.0°E 经度带震源深度中值最大,为 16.04 km;111.0°~111.5°E 经度带震源深度中值最小,为 3.91 km,112°以东震源深度集中5-10km且呈逐渐变浅趋势.

       

      Abstract: In order to obtain a much finer earthquake catalog in the northern margin of the Ordos Block (2008–2025), we applied tomoDDMC to the seismic data from Inner Mongolia Seismic Network. To obtain reliable results, strict phase selection was conducted prior to location, and results from two different velocity models were tested. The study shows that the spatial distribution characteristics of earthquakes along the northern margin of the Ordos block are not dependent on a single velocity model, but source depths are relatively more influenced by the velocity model. We obtained a total of 2773 recolated events, predominantly small to moderate events with few large-magnitude occurrences. The completeness magnitude Mc was estimated using the maximum curvature method to be approximately 1.3, and the b-value for events with MMc was determined using the maximum likelihood method, yielding a value of about 0.54. Significant lateral variations in b-values exist across different regions: relatively low b-values occur near Wuhai-Bayannur in the west and in parts of the central and eastern areas of the study region, while moderate to higher b-values are observed locally around Baotou-Hohhot. The precisely relocted earthquakes exhibit a band-like distribution correlating to the fault’s strike, in which the earthquakes in the western section of the study area are mainly concentrated in the area from Alxa Left Banner to Wuhai, and those in the central section are primarily concentrated in the area from Hohhot to Baotou, while those in the eastern section are mainly concentrated around Horinger. In addition, the dominant focal depths range in 5–15 km, with being deeper in the west but shallower in the east. To quantitatively analyze the characteristics of depth variation, this study divides the region into grids with a 0.5° longitudinal interval and calculates the median focal depths within each longitude band. The results show that the median focal depths range from 3.91 to 16.04 km across different bands, with a variation amplitude of up to 12.13 km. Among them, the highest median depth occurs in the 106.5°–107.0°E band at 16.04 km, while the lowest is found in the 111.0°–111.5°E band at 3.91 km. East of 112°E, focal depths are concentrated between 5 and 10 km and exhibit a gradually shallowing trend.
